I've really been enjoying "junking"! I haven't had time to do as much of it as I'd like, but now that graduation is over.... I don't have a good idea of what a good deal is yet, but my friend Tammy can sometimes help with that. I've always liked the look of the old dough troughs! (I didn't even know what they were called, but Tammy helped me with that too). While my DIL, Abbey and I were strolling around the Monticello Antique Mall in Portland, I saw this beauty and bought it!
I'm sure I didn't get a good deal on it, but I love it! I really don't even remember what I paid for it. Probably too much! My hubby would probably think so anyway! He's been beyond supportive of my new hobby, but I don't think he quite gets this piece. He just looked at it and said, "it's just a old piece of wood". Which I replied "yep"! :)
It's a lot bigger than it looks.
I need to give perks to my 3rd son, Nolan for these great pictures.
He's so handsome! This picture was taken by Jordan Zurfluh of JZ Photography.
Usually my dough trough just sits on the kitchen table looking handsome, but here it is being put to practical use as a chip holder at Nolan's graduation party. Tammy's idea!
This Fall it will be filled with pumpkins and I'm sure I can find a fun way to display it during the Christmas season. Well worth the money !
Blessings,
Julie Wagner
