Since I have a hard-boiled egg with my smoothie every morning I wanted to find out how to properly cook them. Here's what I've found works best for me.
Cover your eggs with water and bring the water to a rolling boil over med-high heat. (I put my burner on 8).Once the water is at a rolling boil, turn off the burner and cover the pan with a lid. (And if you're anything like me, half the time you'll forget you have eggs on the stove and they'll get the h.e double toothpick boiled out of them again).
Let sit for 9 mins. Do not remove the pan from the burner. I have done this before and my yolks were not cook thoroughly. Because of this, if you have a gas stove this method will not work. You will need to let yours sit a little longer. Sorry.
As soon as your eggs are done, place them in ice water to stop the cooking.
Now isn't that a pretty egg!
Happy Easter everyone! He is Risen!!!
Blessings,
Julie
PS - I have heard that if you're using fresh eggs, adding a teaspoon of baking soda to the water will help them peel easier. Haven't tried it, just have heard it.
